WWI Austro-Hungarian entrenching shovel with erzatz cover

Description

WWI Austro-Hungarian entrenching shovel with erzatz canvas carrier. Both shovel and cover are in very good used condition. Metal retains 90% of black paint finish. Shovel blade marked "S/41893/D". Wood handle shows wear from use (see photos). Canvas cover is complete with original button and  supple brown leather trim. Exterior flap is stamped "15320" and has one small 17mm tear from shovel blade. Shovel 6" x 19.5 inches; cover 7.75" x 10". This is a survivor that needs a good home.
